Curt Warner was a standout in football at Pineville High School in West Virginia. He went on to be rushing leader on the Penn State Nittany Lions football team in 1980, 81, and 82 and helped the Lions capture their first national championship at the 1983 Sugar Bowl. At the end of his college career Curt owned 42 Penn State records including 3,398 career rushing yards (2nd in school history) and eighteen 100 yard games which is still a school record. He was named All American in both 1981 and 1982. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications in 1983.
Curt’s professional football career began when he was drafted in the first round (#3 overall) in the 1983 NFL draft. He led the AFC in rushing his rookie year and led the Seahawks to their first Conference Championship game which they lost to the Los Angeles Raiders. He retired after eight NFL seasons with 6844 rushing yards, 193 receptions for 1,467 yards, and 63 touchdowns. He was a three time Pro Bowler in 1983, 1986 and 1987. He was inducted into the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor in 1994.
After football, Curt owned an auto dealership in Bellevue, Washington which he later sold to buy Curt Warner Chevrolet in Vancouver, Washington. Curt recently sold the Chevy dealership to begin a career helping small businesses with their employee healthcare benefits with Montgomery & Graham in Lake Oswego.
Curt and his wife Ana have three sons and one daughter and live in Camas, Washington.
